MY BYU PR EXPERIENCE

There's a reason BYU has consistently been ranked in the top five public relations programs in the nation by PR Weekly.

The Strategic Communications Planning Matrix as created by Dr. Laurie Wilson and Joseph Ogden has been adopted by more than 100 universities and explains a clear, solid way to build an effective communications campaign for any industry. This is what we use as the backbone of our teachings and experiences in the program.

Along with the foundation of the Matrix, we're encouraged to take part in many public relations experiences while we're completing the program, including working in BYU's PR agency, the Bradley Lab, and completing PR internships.

With those experiences and our strategic communications foundation, we're able to apply what we learn to clients and current situations. While in the PR program, I have worked with clients such as Swipe2Give, a nonprofit program from electronic payment processing company Byte Payment; +SocialGood, a social innovation program from the UN Foundation; and Green Polkadot Box, an online non-GMO and organic retailer. I have also written articles for The Universe, BYU's campus newspaper, and Deseret News.

Below you will find a sampling of my work from both my classes and clients, including my news articles.
